Gift Cards

Our Gift Card Fundraiser is a great way to earn money for your Student Travel Account. In the Fall, we have our grocery card gift card program and in the Spring, we will have our Potters garden gift card program. You may start selling the Grocery Store Gift Cards now. Last selling date is November 22, 2017. Cards will be delivered to you at school in December.

Grocery Gift Card

Once again we are pleased to offer our very successful gift card fundraiser to Semi band students. The card purchaser receives the full value of the gift card amount, and a maximum of 8% of the total you sold is donated back to and allocated to your individual student travel account. In order to receive the maximum 8% cash back, we need to sell over $10,000 for each store during the gift card selling periods.
Gift Cards are good at: Safeway, Thrifty, IGA, and FreshCo. Save-on cards can also be used at Pricesmart.

Process for Selling Cards

  1. You may start selling as soon as the order forms are distributed (October 25, 2017).
  2. Approach a potential customer. Ask if they shop at any of the merchants, and if they would like to purchase gift cards to help support the Semiahmoo Band Travel Program. (Merchants: Safeway, Thrifty, IGA, and FreshCo. Save-on or Pricesmart.)
  3. Complete the customer order form for your own records so that you can track who ordered what for when you hand out the cards. You can print more copies from the Music Society website.
  4. Collect payment from the customer, cheque only, made out to Semiahmoo Music Society.  Write your student name and number in the memo area on each cheque.
  5. Fill out the master order form immediately after each sale. Total value of cards should equal total value of cheques. No cash will be accepted by the society – please write a cheque for any cash you collect. Make sure your name, phone number, email address and student number are on this form. If we don't know who you are we can't give you your gift cards!
  6. Place the completed and reconciled master order form and cheques in an envelope and put it into the marked box in the band room. (NOTE: we only need the master order, please keep your individual customer orders for your records.
  7. Watch your e-mail for information on when the cards are ready for pickup, and bring your student ID card when you collect the cards. They will distributed in early December.
  8. Due to the volume and work to complete this fundraiser, we cannot accept any orders after noon on November 22, 2017. Orders submitted late will not be processed, and will be returned to you.
  9. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Charmaine Kauser at
